Opened in 2002 by a
confirmed fabriholic, Patchwork Garden has a
small but perfectly formed collection of fabrics which
has grown very quickly into a very wide variety of
traditional and modern designs, threads, magazines and
notions.
Various adult education courses starting
with city and Guilds 'creative studies'
Embroidery followed by a four year Open
College course in patchwork, quilting and
appliqué were enough to wet my appetite and
make me realise there was a need for a
patchwork shop in Sheffield.
Regular weekday and weekend workshops and classes are run
to cater for all abilities. These are run
lagely by myself Tricia Grindrod with the support
and help of local specialist tutors to widen
the subjects covered.
Fun, relaxation,
creativity and a little bit of 'ME' time are
the name of the game on these occasions.
Block of the month
courses with a difference, i.e. fruit
foliage, or textures are proving to be
popular.
Sewing machine tuition
is also offered on a one to one basis, to
enable people to get the best from their
machine and all it's accessories. |
